A low-carbon restaurant, what on earth is that for?
Food might be good for us but it's not always good for the planet. First it has to be grown, harvested, transported prepared or cooked, packed, sold and afterwards, all the leftovers and packaging have to be disposed of. That can make a lot of CO2e (that's carbon emissions to you and me). So at Otarian they do it differently. Anything they procure for their restaurants has the lowest possible impact on the environment. They sell vegetarian food because meat or meat-based products directly contribute to high CO2e emissions and food scarcity in developing countries.
Everything in their restaurants from the floor you walk on to the table you sit at, is made from recycled materials. And they carbon footprint their food so you can see how little CO2e your meal has created.
They are the planet's low carbon restaurant and they hope there will be many more.

Disaster. They didnt deliver the food for 2 hours. On top of it they were rude on the phone NEVER AGAIN!

Delicious food and adorable packaging. They didn't have the pannacotta when I ordered it, but it doesn't matter cause everything is delicious! This is a new favorite for me!

The food is delicious, but unfortunately the service is terrible. Of all the orders I've placed here, the majority of the time they have run out of one or more of the items and I get a substitute (they call before substituting, which is good). The main problem is the delivery: it can easily take one hour or more to receive your food. Forget the Seamless estimate of 15-30 minutes -- I've never once received my food in that timeframe. I often don't even order cooked food -- just sandwiches or deserts, which are pre-made.

Really excellent--you'll forget it's vegan. Nice to have a truly earth- and body-friendly option! And excellent design- clever packaging. Fast food for proud design snobs.

Late for my scheduled delivery time by an hour. I even called three hours in advance to place the order. When I was calling the store to ask why they were late, they kept saying they'd be there any minute. This went on for an hour.

I ordered a burger combo and asked for another beverage on the menu (exactly the same price). They ignored that, neglected to include the BBQ sauce that I had also ordered, and added a layer of melted cheese to my supposedly vegan veggie-burger. To top it off, when I was walking to my desk, the bottom of the bag came apart, and chiplets spilled all over the floor. I wish I could give them better, since I really believe in the concept, but I won't be ordering there again.

Ordered food, they forgot an item. When I called them they said they would call be back about whether they would send someone to deliver the item or refund my money. An hour passed by and I did not hear from them. When I called back no one answered and then per seamlessweb they closed. Horrible service, do not order from here. I paid for an item and got nothing for it.

The food arrived over an hour and a half and several phone calls after ordered. The restaurant said the miscommunication about delivery times was due to Seamless Web and how they didn't have any control over the delivery time stated. The bags were greased through (although the source seemed to be someone else's food) and the delivery guy didn't even bother to apologize for the delay. We ordered 2 hearty combos: entrees were ample, the green curry which was a bit bland but chock full of veggies and the cottage pie which was tasty; the sides were definitely small, and needless to say room temperature when they arrived, the fries were better than the sweet potato chiplets, which were a bit bitter; desserts were the banana nutmeg cake and the berry cake, the banana nutmeg tasted barely of banana, not at all of nutmeg, and sort of like play-do, the berry cake was fine. All in all, would not order from here again since the extremely long delivery time does not make up for the at best mediocre food.

Friendliest delivery person ever who came...making jokes about selling my signature on the receipt on ebay and such... Yum...my husband and I are not vegetarians but we ordered since sometimes I feel like that type of food. The lasagna was deliciously flavored and though "small" was very heavy in weight. The wrap with the sweet potato falafel was delicious--I've never had that concept before and I love it. And, the burrito was spicy as advertised but tasted quite good. As others noted it is $$...but sometimes you have to pay more to get something that tastes fresh/delicious, especially in NYC. My only other complaint was that I ordered the burrito without cheese and it came with cheese...which was not a problem since I actually DO eat cheese- had just wanted to save the calories. Still, it would be nice if they had followed my special request (or called to say they couldn't since I get that call a lot when I order on seamless).

My order arrived very quickly, the delivery guy (David?) was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the food is delicious. Not to mention the earth friendly qualities of the restaurant. I think I've just found a new favorite delivery source.

Delivery is a disaster. They screw up orders and deliver cold food after an hour. Portions are not very big, but the food is tasty and the prices are not too high. Probably better to pick up or eat-in here.

The bean-based burgers were delicious! The sauce on the spicy noodles, however, tasted like the sauce they use in the Sweet 'n Sour Lean Cuisine.

Food is delicious. Slightly expensive, but I guess you're paying for better taste. Delivery can take forever... just took them over an hour to deliver and the food is cold now...
LOVE this place! Great food (especially the portobello burger and any of the desserts!) I order from here at least once a week, definitely one of seamless web's best options for the area!
